In plain English
Melanotan I and II copy a hormone that controls skin pigment. A related medicine, afamelanotide, is approved in some countries for a rare skin condition and is given only under specialist care. Products sold online as tanning peptides aren't approved by the TGA, and health authorities have warned against using them. Reported risks include changes to moles and other side effects. Talk to your GP about any skin or mole concerns.
